Job Summary
Trust Hands is hiring compassionate and reliable Caregivers to provide non medical support to clients in their homes and in the community. This role focuses on daily living assistance, companionship, safety support, and respectful care that helps clients maintain independence and dignity.
Caregivers at Trust Hands are expected to be professional, patient, and attentive. You will support clients with routine tasks, mobility, reminders, and emotional reassurance while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Support and Daily Living Assistance
- Assist clients with daily routines such as dressing, grooming, and hygiene support (non medical)
- Support safe mobility such as walking assistance and transfers (as trained)
- Assist with meal preparation and light food support based on client preferences
- Provide reminders for hydration, meals, and daily schedules
Companionship and Emotional Support
- Provide friendly conversation, companionship, and emotional reassurance
- Support clients with social engagement and community participation
- Encourage independence while offering respectful assistance
Home Support
- Light housekeeping such as tidying, laundry, dishes, and organizing basic living spaces
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment to reduce fall risks
- Support with errands such as grocery shopping and picking up essential items
Transportation and Community Support
- Accompany clients to appointments, walks, or community activities
- Support safe outings and assist with navigation in public spaces
- Assist with basic appointment reminders and planning
Safety and Observation
- Observe and report changes in client mood, mobility, or general well being
- Follow care plans and client preferences consistently
- Communicate concerns to the Trust Hands supervisor promptly
Professional Standards
- Maintain client privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Document care tasks completed and report updates as required
- Follow Trust Hands policies, safety protocols, and respectful communication standards
- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and professional boundaries
Qualifications and Credentials
Required
- Experience supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, or families in a caregiving role (paid or volunteer)
- Strong communication skills and a calm, respectful approach
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans with consistency
- Must be dependable, compassionate, and professional
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and assisting with light lifting as needed
- Must speak and understand English clearly
Preferred
- Health Care Assistant Certificate or Care Aide training
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Food Safe Certification
- Dementia or Alzheimer’s care experience
- Experience supporting clients with mobility limitations
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Background Checks and Compliance
Successful candidates must be able to provide:
- Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector check if required)
- Professional references (minimum 2)
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
